“To us, it says a lot about a person who
shoulders the burden of the less fortunate.”
C "Lanclos"
C Lanclos, who oversees their family's investment thesis, is originally from Opelousas, Louisiana. Lanclos is a direct descendant of the very first Lanclos family member to immigrate from France to America. In 1720, Jean Baptiste de Lanclos left Picardie and sailed to Ellis Island on the ship Le Profond, eventually settling in Opelousas. Naturally, they have a strong desire to carry forward Ninon's illustrious legacy of altruism and investing. From assisting local families in need to connecting founders, even though investments may not be made on their behalf, to their global network of investment partners, it’s all very inspiring to them to play a positive role in people’s lives and businesses.
Being the investment arm of a private family trust, they are free to collaborate alongside a very exclusive network of seasoned and deeply funded co-investment partners. With a thirty-plus-year career within the investment world, first as an entrepreneur/founder and now as an investor, Lanclos has built an investment network with a cumulative capital investment availability well into the billions of dollars. With such a vast network spanning globally, there is no company too large for their network to consider. Equally important, their operational background in helping businesses scale touches just about every industry conceivable, possessing the business acumen to address any pinch point hindering founders from scaling.
With the exception of pure startups, they are interested in supporting businesses of all sizes and invest in industry-leading enterprises across a wide variety of asset classes. Pre-revenue companies will, however, on rare occasions be taken into consideration. Their ideal investment candidate, for either a majority investment or a complete buyout, is a company with demand outpacing operational capital, solid leadership in place, and a deep desire by founders to become best-in-class. To reiterate, they value the time-tested approach of engaging with founders to thoroughly understand their passion before numbers are evaluated. Because, to the Lanclos family, it’s passion that really makes the impossible possible.
